The point is to master your inspiration, to take that mercurial mistress and make her your wife, reliable and steadfast in her devotion to you, as long as you remain devoted to her. Because I have -forced- myself to write every day, I am able to write well, no matter the circumstances. Inspiration is always at my finger-tips; I don’t have to sit around and day-dream, though I still do plenty of that.
